Aesthetically girl Oz james wine boy especially for pleasures
Oz Clarke - award-winning writer, critic and committed Francophile - is one of the world's leading authorities on French wine.
Oz attempts to educate James about the pleasures of drinking wine. The first episode begins in the Bordeaux region, where the skeptical student learns to appreciate fine wine. The pair visit an oyster farm in Montpellier and a bull-fighting festival in Beziers, as Oz attempts to prepare James for his challenge of cooking a meal and finding the best wine to match it.
James finally thinks he's making progress when he learns an important fact about dessert wine, but baffles everyone with his choice of dish for the challenge. The Rhne Valley provided ample opportunity to learn about lots of different grape varieties.

However, the world-renowned winemaker Michel Chapoutier provides an obvious distraction for James with his classic car collection. The father and son team of Domaine Viret, Alain and Philippe Viret, managed to extol the benefits of embracing cosmoculture, a mystical approach to grape growing involving the harnessing of the cosmic energy of the sky. The duo headed to Alsace and Burgundy for a lesson on barrel making, and terroir - a catch-all way of describing the many factors that can influence the quality of a vineyard.
Oz then took a sceptical James to meet one of Burgundys most celebrated winemakers, Thierry Beaumont, to sample Burgundies from Thierrys three separate terroirs. The duo visit 3 champagne producers in North East France.
They meet a champagne-maker who shares James' love of vintage cars, and a man who makes the wine in his back garden. First, the Top Gear presenter has to choose the transport - a 42 ft monster motor home which they must share for 4 long sweaty weeks - and learns of his friend's celebrity in local oenopoetic circles.
Oz's attempts to educate James about the pleasures of wine take them to California's outlaw country, where Jesse James hid and James Dean died.
Touring the world's biggest vineyard, they are delighted to discover a runway that's used as a racetrack for muscle cars. Then the motoring expert gets revenge on his partner. The duo tour the San Francisco Bay area in a classic British Mini and receive a history lesson as they visit vineyards more than years old.

They learn about the impact of Prohibition, and James is impressed when Oz finally finds a notable American wine that is both affordable and accessible. The duo arrive in Calistoga in the Napa Valley.
James decides to surprise Oz by hiring a car, but he upsets his travelling partner by misbehaving during a tasting. All rights reserved.
